Other sightings this week.....

This week we also manged to capture some new birds we've not seen before as well as the usual sightings of squirrels and mice.

Here is a great close up picture of a magpie.

Next we have a video of a beautiful pheasant.

Extreme Close-up of a Badger sighting!

This week we put the camera trap out in the same area where we captured the pictures of the fox

This time instead of a fox we got a badger coming ate at night when I was asleep at 10:48pm. It came to have a good sniff of the camera because Badgers rely more on their sense of smell than their eyesight.

Look how close it got to the camera! The full video is below:

Calm Clearing - 2 rainy days in June

Over the last two stormy days we decided to try and put the camera trap in a new place.

We jumped over our usual style, dodged the cow-pats in the field and found a new spot tucked away from the footpaths.

In a small wooded area we found a really calm clearing that looked perfect.   On the first day we laid the trap low in a damp, boggy patch.  We were delighted to catch a fox and a squirrel here.

On day 2 we moved the camera slightly up a small bank and were lucky to capture a fox again, a Jay, and a magpie.
