Two Springs ago, I had some robins nesting in a bird box I had put up in my garden. I had had it up for a few years before I was pleased something was nesting in it now. We don't often have robins on the blog so that is why I have decided to make this post. Also, read to the end to see unseen footage taken when I had the camera trap out next to a badger burrow. But before I share the pictures of the nest, here are some photos of a robin me and my dad saw while putting out the camera trap the other day.
Now, here are the photos of the robin nest.
Here is the nest inside the box:
Sadly, the first thing I noticed is some plastic inside the nest. The robin must have used it to build its neat, little nest.
Here are some photos of me taking apart the nest:
I also found some leftover berries they had eaten and a caterpillar's exoskeleton:
Finally the unseen footage from last year's badger burrow. No, it's not badgers it is in fact 3 other species. The first is a quick glimpse of a mouses's rear end.
Next is of a bird called a great tit which is like a blue tit but with a darker head.
It isn't a great picture but you can still see the bird.
Finally is some great footage of a blue tit. I'm surprised I haven't already put this footage on as it is really good.
Here is the video:
That is all for today. Thank you for reading and say what you think in the comments!
