A Dipper, Woodpecker + Other Sightings

This post is a quick round up of some birds I've seen lately.

Tittesworth Resevoir

The other day I was down at Tittesworth and got this footage of an oystercatcher:

I also saw this cormarant:

And these teals:

Blog Woods

Here is some footage I got of buzzards in my local woods when I have been putting out the camera trap:

And here's a Jay I saw while putting the camera out on Tuesday.

Consall

Now we have got to the proper part of the post, from my trip to RSPB Consall Woods today (April 9th) .

One bird which is occasionally seen there is the elusive dipper, one of the birds I've never seen before but would love to get a glimpse of.

First was this blue tit by a nest box:

There were a few buzzards flying about and even this heron in a field:

Further down the path, we come to the river Churnet and onto a bridge hoping to mabye see a Dipper.

And two seconds later, my first ever dipper - the UK's only aquatic songbird - flew out onto a rock.

They are really cool birds, and they are my favourite bird spot so far of the year.

Here is a kestrel:

And finally, some pheasant footage.

Blog Woods Update

I don't usually update posts but today - April 13th - when I was getting my camera trap (you will have to wait until the weekend for that) I finally got my first ever recording of a woodpecker (great spotted woodpecker). After hearing it and several glimpses, it finally came into sight.

That's all for this week's post. I should hopefully have a camera trap post ready for next weekend soon. Remember to leave a comment and thaks for reading!
