Hi everyone, despite this being the first proper post of 2025, all the footage was captured on the camera trap over Christmas. I did have it out over New Year's Day and the second of January but unfortunately we didn't get anything (you will find out why). Also, if you read the last post, you would know that we tried out an old spot which we had only tried once but produced some good footage (see that post by clicking here). Let's see what we got over the festive period.
Christmas Eve
Over Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, it was really foggy and sadly that interfered with the infared at night. It was a shame, because we got loads of fox footage which would have been even better without the fog. I've picked out some of the better footage to show you.
Christmas Day
Fox in the morning:
The fog had cleared a bit by the afternoon.
Boxing Day
Two roe deer come in from the left:
My favourite animal we got on Boxing day was actually not the deer but a jay which we got a nice video of.
Can you see the sheep? Probably not but it is quite deep into the woods in the center of the screen.
You will definitely be able to see it here:
The last thing we got was a badger. You can probably tell why it was the last thing.
Once I'd finished looking through the camera I looked up and realised one of the sheep had been looking at me the whole time. I think I spooked it and it ran off into the woods.
To say we got all of that footage in four days I think it is definitely a spot I am going to use a lot more this year. It is just a shame the badger knocked over the camera otherwise we probably would have got loads more footage.
That's all for today's post. Remember to leave a comment and thanks for Reading!
