Forest of Dean Trip 2025

We headed back to the Forest of Dean again this week, to see if we could record any boar, deer, birds and other wildlife. I set the trail camera up in a new location to last year, although still not far from the campsite. On the second day we went down to cannop ponds again where we saw these mandarin ducks:

Here's a swan and its signet:

Here are some swifts:

The final thing I saw at cannop ponds was this little grebe:

In the woods around the ponds there were loads of boar rootings, but unfortunatley we didn't see boar. On the way back we saw a huge fallow deer cross the road and I spooked one in the woods as well. Unfortunatley I didn't manage to record either of them.

So then, what did we get on the camera trap? It was only out for three nights and unfortunatley we didn't get as much footage as last year but we still got this fallow deer doe pass by. I'm really pleased with this footage as we didn't get anything on the other two nights and it's nice to have something different to what we get at home.

Unfortunatley we didn't see any boar on this trip but hopefully we will get down there again next year or mabye even sooner.  Also, there will be no new post next weekend but you will have to wait until tuesday. Remember to leave a comment and thanks for reading!
